Dying Well in the Community Report – now available!

We are pleased to say that the final Leeds Dying Well in the Community Project Report, prepared by Dr Duncan Radley and Dr George Sanders from Leeds Beckett University is now complete.

The report summarises phase 1 of the project and the Whole Systems Approach used. It makes a number of recommendations and theory of change frameworks which we are continuing to work through to inform future collaborative work.

Coming Soon…

As 2022 draws to a close we have lots of exciting projects to look ahead to in 2023.

We’ve been working on the Scope of the Single Point of Contact Report which will be available in the New Year.

We’re also expecting the Anticipatory Medication Audit to Report its findings in January and the new Evidence into Practice Group is busy updating patient information leaflets ready for distribution.

ReSPECT Audit Kicks off in Leeds

The University of Leeds has been funded to undertake an audit of ReSPECT process on behalf of LPCN. They’ll be looking at the data, quality of the documents and the experience of people partaking in the ReSPECT process in Leeds.

We’ll keep you posted on their findings and how we might further improve practice.

News In Brief

Menopause Matters

Team Leeds has recently launched a new podcast aimed at raising awareness and reducing stigma around the menopause. Statistics say that a million women leave the workforce at any one time due to debilitating symptoms of perimenopause. Our health and care workforce has never been so critical, so we must wholeheartedly address the issues that impact the wellbeing of our most precious asset: our people. The podcast is available here, please listen and share!

NHS England has also published a new document on Supporting NHS People Through Menopause, with guidance for line managers on how to support their members of staff.

Dying in Poverty Report

Marie Curie has published a Dying in Poverty Report https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/policy/poverty

The EDI group will be looking at the implications from the data for Leeds.
